“It’s a privilege to be standing next to you,” said Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton to his fellow driver, who had also won the Belgian Grand Prix on Sunday, but was the world champion in 2008 when Hamilton won the same race. The pair embraced on the podium at Spa and Hamilton wrapped his arms around Boseman, saying: “Chad, that was a really good race today.”
Hamilton has now eclipsed Boseman’s record of most victories in the history of the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. But Boseman has a good chance of dethroning Hamilton next year as he will take over from Hamilton at Black Panther, the Marvel superhero movie that tells the story of T’Challa, the Black Panther and King of Wakanda, who takes the title of King of Wakanda.
During his victory celebration, Hamilton revealed he received an unexpected offer for Black Panther.
“Actually before we came to the podium I was really going to go to Bumblebee,” Hamilton said. “We just had a meeting a few weeks ago so you can see I was really raring to go. But then we took a step back and decided to do it here.”
While Boseman may not yet be the world champion, he certainly is a contender.
